"When there is love ..." part 5 - War

*BOOOOOOM!!!*

The sound of explosions of magical fireballs, energy volts, lightning spells and the ammos of siege weapons filled the valleys of Emain Macha and Briefine. It was the biggest war between Albion and Hibernia in the past five years. Alliances of Albions were attacking the Hibernian frontier keep, Dun Crimthainn, in order to open the road to Dun Lamfhota in Crauchan Gorge. They had to reach Dun Lamfhota the Relic Castle before winter came, so they could avoid fighting for their lost relics in bitter cold and facing the problems of supplies.

In the battlefield, ballistae and catapults were firing ammos in both directions. The shouts of siege commanders and cries of victims could be heard among the explosion noises.

Albion Mercenaries, using their dual weapons, were fighting against the giant Firbolg Heroes and Champions. Paladins were guarding the casters and some were mumbling chants to aid their teammates. Some paladins in shiny plate armours were trying to take down the Hibernians magicians and nightshades.

The magic-users of Albion, Wizards were firing destructive fireballs or casting explosive auras; Sorcerers were focusing on mesmerize spells, freezing the enemies' actions. Cabalists and Theurgists summoned spirits and elemental creatures to help fighting.

Clerics and Friars were busy in healing the wounded fighters.

Infiltrators were climbing up the rear walls, trying to infiltrate into the keep and eliminate some archers and casters on the walls.

Scouts were shooting arrows to the Rangers on the front walls, buying time for armsmen who were bringing the siege ram to take down the keep gate.

The small, pale humanoids and servants to the Lord of the Underworld, the Inconnu also joined the war. Their Necromancers and Reavers casted the ancient magic spells and summoned the underworld creatures to aid the Albions in the battle.

At the back side, war songs were played by Minstrels. They heated the soldiers' hearts and made them more agile.

Tigeroar the Armsman was leading his troop in the front of the battlefield. His men were trying hard to bring the siege ram to the keep gate. He yelled, "Shields up!" At the same time, numerous arrows flied from the top of the wall. Could not have a second look on the elf rangers on the wall, he saw a large shinning scythe struck to him by his left side. Tigeroar swung his polearm and blocked the attack. The attacker was a strong Celt Valkwalker. Tigeroar could feel the pain at his palm. Turned his warhorse, he swiftly made a crippling blow to the valkwalker. With a cry, the valkwalker fell off his horse and lied flat on the ground.

Just about to orientate his warhorse again, Tigeroar found it was paralyzed. "Mesmerize spell! Scatter!" He yelled to his men and jumped off the horse at once. Without a pause, he ran into the enemies and targeted on the mesmerizer, a Druid. The druid blocked Tigeroar's first hit by his small shield. Then Tigeroar slashed his polearm with full strength for a consecutive attack. The shield got the hit and crumbled. The druid's left arm was dreadfully mangled and he fell down on the ground in agony.

Suddenly a purple bolt came from behind, it was too late that Tigeroar could evade. It hit his back and smoked the cloak. With pain, he turned and surprisingly found two swords were already three feets away, thrusting towards his chest. Also, a huge warhammer was crushed towards his head at the same time. Tigeroar jumped to his right side at once to parry the swords and swung the polearm to bearly block the warhammer. Catching his breath, he found his enemies. They were an elf Eldritch, a lurikeen Blademaster and a firbolg Warden. The elf was mumbled something and going to cast another powerful spell. The lurikeen moved forward and thrusted his dual swords again. The firbolg was amazed for the lost of the expected kill. Putting both hands on the warhammer, he was going to do another lethal attack.

Bearing the pain at his back, Tigeroar made a deep breath and got ready for fighting against these three enemies. Then an earthquake sound came out. The earth around them shaked. A gigantic rocky hand suddenly came out from the ground and grabbed the three Hibernians. The elf was shocked and lost his mind on the incantation. The lurikeen and firbolg were fell and caught by the magical rocky hand. "Leave them to us." A familiar voice came from behind. Tigeroar turned his head and found his wizard friend, Legalin. Following the wizard, there were Braxxux the master mercenary and Suirtimed the noble paladin. They were the Crimson Guards; his guildmates and friends. Braxxux said, "Go to the gate, Tiger."

Needless to say more, Tigeroar gave them a smile and ran towards the keep gate.

While running besides the smoke of explosion and battle fires, he found a familiar shadow behind the smoke. He paused running and stared to the shadow. Smoke passed and he found the person with a pair of emerald eyes was also staring to him.

It was the one making his mind stirred, the one occupying his heart for days and nights, the one giving him the true happiness. It was his beloved elf lady, Lilthanasia.
